Our perception of the world
Nathalia Advria Jade Onayomake
is shaped by the state of awareness we occupy.
Our tastes are different.
Our flows—unmatched.
What feeds one person
may never nourish another.
The truth is,
some people don’t even have the plate
to savour the flavours you present.
To them, everything tastes bland—
because not everybody seasons their food.
You are not meant
to eat from everybody’s table.
And that’s fine.
Some people remain oblivious
to who they invite in—
and what you bring
may not be appreciated.
You are the food
that nourishes the body
and sparks the mind.
Build your own legacy.
Not everybody takes to soul food.
Give thanks to those who see you—
but take into consideration:
being seen
does not grant people free access to you.
Keep in mind
the tables you weren’t allowed to sit at.
Keep in mind
the grace you were never given.
There is no need to save face.
Protect your energy.
You
are an acquired taste.
