“Did you eat today?”
Nathalia Advria Jade Onayomake
Such a tender question.
A suggestion.
A soft kind of yearning.
An unspoken invitation—
to tend to your center,
to explore your temple
with nourishment.
Regardless of your faults,
or how the day went—
whether you’re mad at the next person,
or at the world as a whole—
just being asked that
feels like care in its purest form.
It’s better than lustful looks
and meaningless intercourse.
It’s a kiss on the forehead
without the action.
It’s a “How was your day?”
It’s an “I love you”
without needing to say.
Short and sweet,
like what I just wrote today—
a sandwich with all the trimmings.
One bite,
and you’ll taste it
forever and always.
So if I may say…
It’s a love language.
His tone—
literally set the tone.
I pray his words
are genuine and real.
Talk to me.
Tell me who you are,
and how you plan to be.
Not just in passing—
but in presence.
“Be safe.”
“You good?”
These are offerings,
not just words.
Checking on you,
and checking me—
that too,
is a love language.
