Justin Wilson is a contemporary abstract artist from Minnesota, USA. The striking art pieces are created by the use of heavy textures on canvas, paper, and wood.
Wilson employs various mediums to convey the message, such as acrylic, oil paint, pastels, ink, or aluminum foil. The outcome of such a combination is a collection of “Pollockian” pieces that command attention.
The artist started the creative exploration in late 2021 and states, “Art saved my life!” Wilson’s work is meant to dive into various areas of existence. Layered, contrasting shapes and colors tell the story of exploration. Some pieces are meditations on the inner states of mind and spirit. Others ponder on the state of the world and political and social struggles, as well as challenges faced by artists in the digital age. An example of such involvement is Wilson’s series of paintings titled “Human Intelligence,” described by the artist as simply “My slop! No AI slop.”
The powerful and dynamic blend of an obliterating surge of energy is a hallmark of Wilson’s vision. Through an abstract approach to the canvas, the painter encodes messages, opinions, and perspectives on life and pop culture. “Escape the world you live in by cleansing it,” reads the title of one of Wilson’s latest pieces.

Truth is not objective, and the message is never definitively ‘right’; rather, it is what makes sense to us. At the root of Wilson’s vibrant and colorful display lies exactly this—the will to understand and the struggle that comes with it, rather than the pursuit of discovering the ultimate meaning.
