A cinematographer, art director, photographer, and videographer from Romania creates under the alias of lemonboiii.

His portfolio is dedicated to storytelling through various mediums with one common point—using art as a shield. In the shadows, the artist can be as honest or as cryptic as he pleases, without subjecting himself to the vulnerability of exposure.

He stays away from the eye of the camera, turning it instead to others. He treats photography almost as a service to his subjects: “I love to see people embrace their natural beauty. […] They can look at themselves in the pictures and say, ‘Wow, is this really how I look like?’ […] It’s another thing when it’s about actually seeing yourself from the outside and just discovering how pretty you can be in your day-to-day life. That’s what my mission is.”

Dabbling in a multitude of mediums—from visual arts and videography to electronic music—lemonboiii’s attention is divided between an inherent need to create and an indecisiveness regarding which medium to use to bring his art to life. We see the candid chrysalis stage of an artist eager to share his vulnerabilities, at times overcome by a cumulative feeling of doubt, nostalgia, and rebellion—a muffled, inner struggle.
