Indonesian photographer Rizky Sandika is building his portfolio in the pursuit to establish his personal vision and to connect with other artists.
Sandika shoots predominantly in monochrome, and this creative choice lets perspective speak louder. Whether the lens looks towards the sky, straight ahead, or through obstacles, it reaches a clear main point of focus.
The photographs evoke an escapist comfort, ambiance, and a sense of withdrawal with both nature and urban scenery. The artist stands still while life unravels around him, not paying attention, being caught off guard, in the exact true state of the moment.
Sandika captures his surroundings as they are, without trying to “beautify” the world around. He additionally strips it of color, leaving no veil of appearances to deceive the viewers.
