Karolina is a Polish artist who seamlessly navigates between film photography and modeling for other photographers.
In her realm, both nature and human anatomy can find a cozy spot. Hidden stories overlap the intentional exposure of skin, giving vulnerability a new meaning—that of a bare soul. With gentleness and warmth on one hand and nonchalant cheekiness on the other, Karolina’s art turns quietly and constantly into a polarized spectrum of embracive beauty.
The main theme of Karolina’s series is the connection between flowers and the human body—intertwined and restful, both fragile and soft, in full bloom and withering towards the end of the life cycle. Through her photography, Karolina doesn’t come across as pretentious. Her work is visually daring yet sensible, providing guidelines for ideals and principles without laying it all out on a tray.

In this way, the photographer treats the subjects with care and covers them with a soft analog blanket—to be seen on her terms. Simultaneously, the idea is that perhaps it isn’t about making a point but about allowing the others to find it on their own.
Read our “Focus” issue in full
Our August issue features 17 visual artists, photographers, and poets whose work taught us about relentlessness, resilience, and clarity. “Focus” became the chosen theme for this last month of summer.

We’re a team of writers using our craft to spotlight art in its most honest form. RAWGUE. started as a bi-monthly editorial experiment where each issue’s theme is dictated by the submitted work, thus removing editorial bias from the equation and preserving a more raw approach. We focus on all forms of poetry: written, photographed, painted, drawn, and filmed.
