You,
Samantha Gonsalves Wetherell
Giant,
grasp me in your ink stained finger tips,
covered in recently written love letters
that I’ll never know.
My heart brushes against your skin with each hammer as I’m lifted from the road,
and I can feel the heat as you pulsate
in parallel
too.
sweat,
perfume,
and hyperventilating breathes
permeate the air,
Both scared but huddled together.
Fur on skin
on fur
on skin
on fur.
In that moment, our minds run wild
existential in our thoughts,
but I know from the way you cradle me,
and the way I curl into you,
that we are united in our desire,
To Live.

RAWGUE.’s 4th issue delved into the grey, moody, and cold atmosphere of winter. Yet it did not sink into the depths of madness or depression. Instead, it embraced this season of hibernation, allowing 31 artists from all over the world to present their timid work beneath a veil of quiet beauty.
