A growing wave of what we can only define as fine art conceptual monochrome, imagery that merges poetic atmosphere, symbolic storytelling, and deliberate minimalism.
In this new series of RAWGUE. Editors’ Picks, we would like to express our appreciation for some of the most remarkable, devoted, and underrated emerging photographers in our community through a series of articles dedicated to their work, highlighting the pieces that have resonated with us the most.
Over the past months, we have noticed a growing wave of what we can only define as fine art conceptual monochrome, a hybrid imagery that merges poetic atmosphere, symbolic storytelling, and deliberate minimalism. The artists featured in this series explore themes such as solitude, identity, and emotion through carefully staged compositions.
Technically, their predominantly black and white works often embrace soft light, subtle grain, high contrast and blurred motion, placing less emphasis on spontaneity and more on concept, metaphor, and tone, whether it is a portrait, a landscape, a street photo, or an experimental abstract.
Below you can find our 1st selection out of 4 in the series titled Cold Fever, featuring artworks of some exceptional photographers. Please visit their portfolios and show your support by following their journey.
