Artur Tkachenko is a Germany-based photographer whose artworks combine the fleeting and the intimate into a harmonious duo.
The lens becomes a watchful eye ready to catch moments of uncaged intimacy. These are images of authentic glimpses caught with precision and intention. Whether it is a movement or stillness, they are not disturbed by the camera but enhanced by it.
The vast, open sky as a background brings the breath of fresh, soft air to the harsh, cold city lines. The black and white perspective is chosen as a tool to carve out the unnecessary and preserve only the raw moment, imbued with both affection and free-spirited wonder.
Technically, the photographer swings between symmetrical shots and well-balanced bokeh. The main subjects reflect almost synonymously the main ideas the artist wants to convey: portraiture, for a close-up into one’s soul; birds as carriers of freedom and the ephemeral; and buildings as the harbingers of stability and togetherness.
